This is a “fun” read……I liked the main character right away, even though he’s a rough-and-tumble sort of person–I don’t personally know anyone like him. But he’s endearing and you WANT him to succeed and win.The sequel should be equally as exciting and engaging.

I don’t often find a book that I am unable to put down. This is one of them. I have lived in the Tahoe area and foothills my whole life and this book catapulted me through the past into life with Wig Blackhammer and his comrades (and enemies). My Lake Tahoe daughter has also enjoyed reading it and I’m giving it as a birthday present to a friend who loves reading books from that era in our part of the country. It’s fast paced, funny at times, heart-wrenching at times. If there were six stars here, it would get 6!
Excellent Book
Excellent read. An adventure centered around Turn of the Century San Francisco/Lake Tahoe. Tritten interweaves both historical facts with fiction to breathe life into his characters and create an exciting and hard to put down novel. The ending leaves the reader with the anticipation of a suspenseful “cliffhanger”, and anxious to know what lies ahead for Wig Blackhammer.

Wow, what an exciting time I had with this great read! Adventure, human emotion and fun. What else can you ask for? The detail of the story made it so real. Each character came to life as did the beautiful country they are in. Can hardly wait for Dashing Del Tritten’s next story to see what else happens to Wig Blackhammer and all the lives he touches.

I’m 64 year’s young and have read, honestly, maybe 4 or 5 books in my life. As you can tell, I read very well, but nothing keeps me interested long enough to finish it. I was introduced to Adolf’s Gold a while back, but me, the non-book reader, never wanted to sit down and read a copy until my wife bought me the book at Christmas time. I felt like I had to read it now under these circumstances so I opened it up and off I went. 3 days later I was reading my next book, The Delta Elite ! 3 days later, which is today I starting my next book, the trilogy of BlackHammer. Del has made these books so enjoyable with his research into all details, that it keeps me glued to every word! Del, keep writing cause you’ve turned this movie only guy, into a book reader! And when your books become movies, I’m watching!!!!!!!!

Well written as to the extinct cultures and their stories……might be fiction, but I think there was a research done to make it more authentic……

Interesting story. This was a good read but jumped between years without full development. This could have been written as a series that would have been engaging. The characters are real and there is a variety of personalities like you find in daily life. The science was presenting in a concise manner that did not overwhelm the reader who does not have a background in astrophysics or high level mathematics. I liked the story but do think do much more could have been done in developing the characters and story line.
